A Review of The Modern Algebra by Andre Agassi
A Review of 'The Modern Algebra' by Andre AgassiI recently discovered that a book called 'The Modern Algebra' had some very useful tips for helping me solve my algebra problems. I've read other books about algebra, but nothing like this. It is so useful and such a fun book to read. I couldn't put it down.My first question was; what exactly does the book say? In an excellent section in the Introduction, which includes an awesome picture of Thomas the Tank Engine, the author explains his main claim. He claims that it has really been the easy part of learning math - the numbers at the top and bottom - that were making math more difficult than necessary. He states: 'Academic learning is always most effective when it focuses on the practical applications of what you learn.' Then he goes on to describe his own experience learning algebra. His algebra teacher knew that he struggled to do things like working out what the roots of a given function were, or solving quadratic equations. He was o ften really tired after class because he needed to find out this information in just a few minutes. He was not assigned homework, and there was no way to check your work. He would either do these things himself, or get other people to do them for him.My point is this: it is important to understand how to do well with your math at school. You need to know that you need not only good teachers, but also good students. By having a book with useful tips for solving algebra problems at home, you are in a position to make sure that you're doing your homework, and your tests, every day.The other section in the book really helped me, too. There is an outstanding section on multiplication tables, where you will learn new techniques that make you think about the way that you multiply things. Forexample, you might be learning how to multiply a sum by a larger unit by multiplying that larger unit by its own factor. Or you might be learning the difference between first and second and figuring out how to replace one decimal point with another decimal point. These ideas can get boring, and you can't know whether you've understood what you're doing. There are lots of such things to learn when you are trying to learn algebra. When you have a book with good hints and solutions, you have a framework from which to build your own knowledge. I am not sure that I would recommend this book as a substitute for college-level algebra, but the book does give you a foundation. My husband who is studying chemistry also liked the book very much. He liked the fact that it included easy exercises and workbooks to use. He just needs some more help from a math tutor, and the book is a good start.

Elon Musk`s Plan to Get Humans to Mars
Elon Musk`s Plan to Get Humans to Mars On September 27, Elon Musk revealed what many are calling the most ambitious space plan. He announced a bold new plan to establish a permanent human habitation on Mars. The main goal for SpaceX and humanity should be to get to Mars, and beyond. Its really a decision we need to make as a civilisation, Musk said. The Spacex interplanetary spaceship will be about the height of the 32 story Keystone building in Boston. It would take up to 100 âcolonistsâ to the red planet in order to build a settlement. Though Musk hopes to ultimately take 200 or more per flight to make the cost cheaper per person. What kind of future do we want? Do we want a future where we are forever confined to one planet, until some eventual extinction event, however far into the future that might occur. Or do we want to become a multi-planet species, and then ultimately be out there among the stars?, Musk asked. The first human mission could launch as early as 2024. If you want to know more about Mars and space shuttle programs, ask our space science tutors. And if you want to live on Mars, remember you have to wear a spacesuit to take a stroll outside!

Part-Time Jobs in Healthcare
Part-Time Jobs in Healthcare Image via pexels.com 1) Home health aide The name provides the simple version of the job description. As a home health aide, you will be working with people who have physical disabilities, illnesses, and/or cognitive issues. You will be assisting them in carrying out daily activities and your duties will vary depending on the patient you are assisting. You can expect to be assigned to bathe your patient, help with dressing, make sure physical therapy is carried out, keep up with medication distribution, help the patient with commuting to where they need to be, and so on. This job description may sound like that of a personal care aide; however, you will be allowed to provide basic medical service for your patient, which is something that a personal care aide is not allowed to do. Your job location as a home health aide will depend on where you are assigned, which can be a clients personal home or a group home, as you will be working for certified home health agencies that will oversee your job. The requirements for becoming a home health aide change according to what state you are in, but most states have aides that already have gotten their high school diploma. You will not be working alone, however, as most home health aides do work under medical professionals, like registered nurses or therapists. 2) Nursing orderly As a nursing orderly, you will be working in a hospital or in more long-term facilities, like nursing homes. You will be expected to help transport patients (pushing wheelchairs) and clean treatment areas (equipment, changing linens, restocking supplies, etc). Like home health aides, orderlies usually have their high school diploma, and will require on-the-job training and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. It may not seem like the most appealing part-time job, but if you are seriously considering a career in healthcare you need to be starting somewhere, and that somewhere may not always be your first and most appealing choice. 3) Receptionist at a medical (dentist, optometrist, etc.) office As a receptionist, you will not be doing any medical service, but your options are already extremely limited if you only have your high school degree and are still in school for your undergraduate degree. Being a receptionist will allow you to still submerge yourself into a healthcare environment and allow you to work with medical professionals that can offer you both guidance in your intended career path and references for your later academic and professional applications. You will gain experience with patient care as you interact with your offices patients, learning about their needs and how they are attended to. You can also get a clearer picture of what specific job you want to pursue in the healthcare field; if you end up in a dentists office and do not like the environment, you are still early enough in your career that a change would have little to no impact in the long run. As you are not going to be carrying out any medical service, you can still apply for this position as a part-time job with only a high school degree as your main concern in the position will be providing customer service and carrying out administrative tasks. 4) Medical scribe According to CEP Americas website, scribes document patients medical histories and physical exams as they work with CEP America healthcare providers in the emergency department. They also work closely with our hospitalists in the intensive care, telemetry, medical/surgical, and other units to help with documentation of admissions, rounding, and discharge. Because scribes are usually undergraduate or post-baccalaureate students, the schedule is flexible and open to changing with your school schedule. You will be expected to work 2-3 shifts per week and will typically work less than 20 hours a week, which allows you to not have your job overwhelm you with hours that you could use for studying or focusing on your wellbeing.

6 Activities to Keep Students Learning This Summer
6 Activities to Keep Students Learning This Summer School is out for the summer! While this may mean barbecuing, camping, and swimming, there are also a number of fantastic summer learning activities that allow you to keep your brain engaged while you are having fun. Here are six ideas to explore: 1. Read. Reading is a wonderful summer activity for any age. Not only does it maintain your comprehension skills, it also increases your vocabulary. This is especially important for students who are preparing for college admissions tests. As you read, you familiarize yourself with different writing styles, which can help you improve your own writing. We do not always speak in grammatically correct English, and reading is a great way to reinforce proper usage. Select a book that is interesting to you: a compelling story or a nonfiction narrative about a topic you wish to explore. You will reap all the benefits of reading while remaining entertained. Here are some great tips on how to create a summer reading program for you and your child. 2. Learn a new skill. Whether you choose origami, gardening, crocheting, or cooking, your mind will benefit from the very act of learning. Consider first reading about the skill you have selectedwhich, as previously stated, has numerous advantagesorworking with a tutor who is an expert in the skill. 3. Choose games that challenge your brain. In addition to these board games that can sharpen your critical thinking skills, investigate Boggle and Scrabble. Both are summer learning activities that double as amusing ways to practice spelling and vocabulary. There are also a glut of logic puzzles available for free via the Internet. To locate such materialswhich are certain to keep you engagedsimply type logic puzzles into a search engine. 4.Visit a museum. Museums are ideal for all ages. There are childrens museums geared toward young people, and many cities also offer art, natural history, and science museums. Inquire as to what museums exist in your location. You will likely uncover one that is intriguing to you, which may prompt you to further explore its subject matter. 5.Shadow a professional. Summer is the perfect opportunity to shadow an individual who works in a field in which you have interest. Ask about a typical day, what he or she enjoys about or feels is lacking in the job, why he or she chose that career, and what courses or skills are most needed to work in that field. You will learn information that is invaluable to planning your college and high school career. 6. Go on a scavenger hunt. This item requires a bit of effort on your parents part, but it is well worth it. For little learners, this can be as simple as completing a scavenger hunt to find objects in the home of a certain color or shape. Parents can also create a reading scavenger hunt by choosing a book they would like their student to read. Make a scavenger hunt of phrases. As your student reads, he or she can mark off the phrases he or she uncovers, as well as earn a small reward for completing the book and the hunt. Turning summer learning activities into games is a great way to keep students mentally active and excited about academics. Have a great summer, and happy learning!
